Patients can also see Kaiawhina Kura Forrester. Like all kaiawhina Kura can help with a range of parenting and or family health issues by offering practical support and education in the home, clinic, or wherever the patient needs. She will also refer a patient to an appropriate service where needed. Kura will assist the rural health nurse with immunisations and screening. Kura will also work with patients wanting help to quit smoking, and assist patients with transport. She works with schools and kohanga, and helps run a variety of healthy lifestyle holiday programmes. Kaiawhina Maori health workers regularly work in their own communities and have strong links with local iwi (tribal group).
Receptionist Starlene Otene will take care of your appointment and help you with paperwork.
